Topiary

Topiary

This one was so easy to make. I picked up all my supplies at the dollar store.

I started by giving my pot a coat of paint. I then cut my floral foam to fit the pot and secured it with hot glue. I found my piece of dowel much easier to paint when I inserted it into the floral foam. I then proceeded to glue my ball of greenery to the top of my dowel. I glued a little moss onto the floral foam. That's it! Very easy and inexpensive.

I also had a frame which I wanted to put something other then a photograph in. I had a leftover piece of material which I cut to fit inside the frame. I then used scrapbooking letters to write "family" and stuck it onto my material. Can it get any easier then that?

Another bulletin board and a necklace holder.

I have so many frames that I decided to do another frame project. Or should I say two frame projects. So I started by painting the frames with krylon oil rubbed bronze spray paint. I replaced the glass with foam board, which I covered with a piece of material. I made one frame into a bulletin board, which I stapled ribbon onto. I put thumb tacks at each section where the ribbon overlaps. I then hot glued a button onto each thumb tack. The other frame became a necklace holder which I added cup hooks to. So easy!

I have just one more frame project to try. Then I will move on to something new. I promise. :)

Mini Picture Frame

Mini Picture Frame

I found this tiny frame amongst my large collection of frames today. I wasn't sure what I would do with it. After pondering it for a while, I knew just what I would make.
I decided this was going to be an additional piece of my niece's gift. I needed some scrapbooking paper, craft paint,(which I switched to green) ribbon, some letter stickers (which I also switched for another colour) and a very dirty little frame. Ewww! I took the frame apart and I washed and painted the frame. I cut scrapbooking paper to fit inside the frame. I wrote my niece's name with the stickers on scrapbook paper.  I assembled everything back together and stapled a ribbon hanger onto the back of the frame.
So simple and sweet.

I hung it from the bulletin board/jewelry holder that I made her yesterday.

Bulletin Board/ Jewelry Holder

Bulletin Board/Jewelry Holder

I had this frame. (The glass was broken) I spray painted it white and then gently distressed it with sandpaper.
These are the materials I started with. I began by stapling my material to my foam board.

I measured my ribbon sections and stapled them to the back of the foam board.

Insert foam into frame.

I covered the back with a piece of cardboard and taped it on with clear packing tape. I then hot glued my knobs on.
Here it is! I hope my niece likes it. :)
